Appointment Cancellations/Missed Appointments

We require at least 24 hours notice for missed private and semi-private yoga sessions so that we can try to fill the space. Should a private/semi-private session be cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, 50% of the scheduled fee will apply. Should a private/semi-private session be missed entirely without any notice, the full session fee will apply. This policy is necessary for our small business to continue to serve our clients and to ensure that teaching private/semi-private sessions is financially feasible for our yoga teachers. Our teachers only work for a maximum of 5 hours per day and one cancelled appointment can have a significant financial impact. We understand that emergencies do come up and we may waive the fee depending on your individual circumstances. We do not consider scheduling conflicts to be emergencies.

Class Etiquette

Arrive at the studio at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of your class. This will allow you plenty of time to change your clothes if needed, lay down your mat, and grab any props that you may need during your asana practice. If you are dropping in or if it’s your first time at the studio, arriving 15 minutes early is prudent as we do have some paperwork that you may need to fill out.

Arrive on time for class as late arrivals can be disruptive to others. If you arrive late, please note that the front door to the clinic may be locked. We cannot hear knocking on the front door in the studio. There is an emergency exit door at the top of the wheelchair ramp on the side of the building. You can knock here and someone can them let you in the front door. Take your place calmly and quietly to avoid disturbing the other students.

Out of consideration and compassion for others, avoid wearing any scents/colognes/perfumes to class. We also ask that you refrain from smoking before you arrive. Many people are very sensitive to strong smells and we strive to create a relaxing, comfortable environment for all of our students.

As a courtesy to other students, turn off or silence your cell phones or other mobile devices while you are in class.

Ethics

As registered yoga teachers, the teachers at Calm Massage Therapy & Wellness adhere to the guidelines outlined by Yoga Alliance. As a client you have to right to ask your teacher questions regarding any aspect of the yoga practice and to stop a session or leave a class at any time.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds for drop-in classes.

If you are unable to complete all the sessions of a 6 or 8 week yoga class enrolment, the balance of the enrolment fee may be transferred to another person or may be credited on your account towards a future yoga class or session.

We do not offer refunds on gift certificates or packages that have been purchased. However, gift certificates and packages may be transferred to another person or may be credited on your account towards a different type of service.

Sickness Policy

Calm Massage Therapy & Wellness Studio recognizes that instructors and students are vulnerable to illnesses. We ask everyone to take proper precautions in regards to protecting themselves and others from the spread of cold, flus, and other infections and illnesses. Please try to give us 24 hours notice if you are too unwell to attend your private/semi-private sessions as our cancellation/missed appointment policy still applies. If you are too unwell to attend a yoga class, remember that we do offer make-up classes between sessions so you will be able to make up for the class you missed.

In the event that an instructor is too unwell to teach a class, we will do our best to have another instructor available for your private/semi-private session or class. In the event that we cannot find an alternate teacher, we will cancel your private/semiprivate session at no charge to you. For students enrolled in our 6 or 8 week yoga sessions, you will be able to make up the missed class at one of our make-up classes between sessions.
